Portland, Oregona: Memorial Day Weekend.

Well, I didn’t make it to Mt. Hood for some bucket list hiking, but I stumbled upon the International Rose Garden, which was lovely to walk through and take in. The Ace Hotel (the original is actually in Seattle, not NYC) was perfectly situated between Kenny & Zuke’s (best reuben sandwich), Stumptown Coffee, and offered bikes to rent for the day. I especially liked their reading room. Mt. Hood, another day, another trip perhaps. We’ll see.

I had a pleasant (and quick) long weekend in LA from Redondo Beach, Hermosa Beach, Venice Beach, Brentwood, and Santa Monica. My skin enjoyed soaking up the sun & somehow, I managed to get a nice tan in January. :)

Now, if only I could’ve finished this book (“Lunch in Paris” by Elizabeth Bard) on the 6 hour flight…
